U.S. adults on social networks being managed responsibly 2024, by political stance
According to a February 2024 survey of adults in the United States, the political affiliation of respondents influenced their opinion of whether social media platforms are managed responsibly. Overall, those who identified as Independent were the least likely to think that social networking companies managed their platforms responsibly, with nine percent of Independent voters feeling that they managed their platforms very responsibly, whilst 26 percent felt they were handling their services somewhat irresponsibly. In contrast, Democrats were the most likely to have a positive opinion of the management of social networks, with 21 percent thinking it was very responsible, compared to only 16 percent of Republicans.
