U.S. adults on social media networks being managed responsibly 2024, by gender
According to a February 2024 survey of adults in the United States, 32 percent of men thought that social media companies managed their platforms somewhat responsibly, compared to 28 percent of women. The most significant discrepancy was among those considered the management of social networks very responsible, with 19 percent of male respondents sharing this opinion compared to only 11 percent of female respondents. In contrast, the share of men and women who thought the management of social media platforms was very irresponsible was almost the same, with 20 percent and 19 percent, respectively. Overall, more women showed uncertainty, with 15 percent of female respondents answering that they were not sure.
