Export value of the space industry South Korea 2011-2021
In 2021, the space industry in South Korea recorded an export value of around 610 billion South Korean won. This was lower than the previous year, with exports of satellite receivers suffering a decrease in recent years. From 2013, GPS navigation and satellite receivers were added as space industry sub-categories, which led to a large increase in the figures. With the successful launch of the Nuri rocket (also known as KSLV-II) in 2022, South Korea became the seventh country in the world that was able to put in orbit a satellite that weighs over one metric ton.
