Prevalence of alcohol consumption among pregnant U.S. women from 2018-2020, by age
Between 2018 and 2020, around 13.5 percent of pregnant women in the U.S. reported consuming at least one alcoholic drink in the past 30 days, while 5.2 percent reported binge drinking. This behavior varies across age groups. In particular, the highest percentage of women who reported they binge drank while pregnant were aged 18-24, with a rate of 8.5 percent. On the other hand, the highest percentage of pregnant women who reported current drinking were aged 35-49, with a rate of 17 percent.
