In January 2023, around 34 percent of adults in the United States aged 50 to 80 years stated they felt isolated from others some of the time or often. This was a decrease from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic when in June 2020 some 56 percent of older U.S. adults reported feeling isolated from others.
