Number of passengers carried via JR Central Shinkansen in Japan FY 2013-2022
In the fiscal year 2022, Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) carried around 131 million passengers on its high-speed Shinkansen trains, increasing from 84 million in the preceding year. Today operated by Japan Railways Group companies, the Japanese bullet trains have been renowned worldwide for their reliability regarding speed, punctuality, and safety since the inauguration of the first Shinkansen in 1964.
