As of May 2021, a total of 95 airports were categorized as level 1 with regards to the carbon accredited airports, which meant these airports achieved the minimum goal of having a policy commitment to emission reduction approved by top management. Level 2 had a total of 88 airports and represented airports expected to fulfill of all level 1 accreditation requirements. 58 airports were categorized under level 3 which represents the optimization of level 2 requirements and development of extensive carbon footprint measures. Level 3+ is made up of airports that have fulfilled all level 3 requirements. 63 airports fell under this class in 2021.
