Chile: share of domestic enotourists 2018, by companionship
The term enotourism is used to describe tourism with the objective of pursuing activities related to wine, such as tasting, consuming, and buying of this famous alcoholic beverage. As one of the most important producers of the drink worldwide, Chile provides tourists with the opportunity of getting an immersive experience through its wine routes around the country. As of September 2018, this kind of tourism in the South American country was enjoyed mostly by couples, with 54.1 percent of national enotourists accompanied solely by their partners. The second most common companion for Chilean wine travelers were friends.
