Average amount raised in chip and semiconductor financing rounds in China 2010-2022
As of November 22, 2022, the average financing amount raised in the Chinese chip and semiconductor industry was 1.65 billion yuan, around 200 million less than in the previous year. The average financing amount spiked in 2017 when U.S. sanctions on Chinese electronics companies were looming on the horizon as a response to ZTE violating trade sanctions with North Korea and Iran. In 2018, ZTE was officially barred from accessing chips from U.S. companies.
